Innisfree Mineral Stick Concealer

Having seen a related product (the Innisfree Mineral Dark Circle Concealer) featured on Jungsaemmool’s channel, I decided to give this this concealer stick (also by Innisfree) a try!

Brand: Innisfree
Name: Mineral Stick Concealer
Color: No.2 Natural Beige
Actual Weight: 16.1g
Price in Korea: 8,000KRW

It comes in a little cardboard box—simple, and no extra plastic to trash!

[ Length: 11cm ]

Small problems with the packaging: (This may not happen to you, of course!)
The stick had become dislodged by the time I got this. This means that:
  • 1. The entire stick may fall out if tilted downwards while uncapped.
  • 2. It sometimes doesn't screw dow properly and requires a bit of tapping.

Here is a demonstration of the stick pressing against the lid. It also gives you an idea of the texture:

Other than that, even though I don't put it in my bag, the casing has cracked slightly after a few weeks. Not a big deal, but a headsup~

Color: It’s an orangey tan color. It gets slightly browner as time goes on. It’s definitely more of a No.23 than a 21 in the Korean coloring system. Here’s a comparison with two of my BB Creams:

It’s too dark for me, but I do find it useful as for layering! I use it underneath my BB Cream. (If I put my BB Cream directly over my dark circles, they just end up looking grey... ㅜ.ㅜ )

Pigment: While its swatches are very thick and opaque, it of course also depends on how much you blend~ Here's a little demo:

It’s very creamy! It glides right onto my skin as a nice, thick layer. It’s much creamier and thicker than my Canmake color sticks, which looks powdery and settles into my fine lines.

Here's a comparison! Can you see the difference in the zoomups?

There's a bit of a liquidy glide with the Innisfree concealer. The difference is even more apparent after blending. Can you see the dry, powdery finish with the Canmake?

However! Because this concealer is too dark for me, I have to blend it out quite a bit. And as you can see, blending ends up taking away much of the thick and creamy niceness anyways...Now don’t get me wrong! It’s still creamy, but scaling down on the thickness also scales down on the creaminess—because you do have to blend, right?

Some things covered up better than others. Overall, I'd say my blemishes were less obvious, but still there. Not completely hidden. Here are some examples!

Undereye Fine Lines: Two things to notice here: 1) It has a smooth, noncreasing finish.
2) While it does brighten my eyes, it doesn't completely conceal all of the darkness:

My better eye, without BB Cream:

My worse eye, without BB Cream:

Speaking of texture, if I blend it out *over* BB cream, it does acquire a slight powdery look which can accentuate fine lines--though it's really only noticeable close up:

While it's still superior texturally to other concealers I’ve tried, I nonetheless use it *under* my BB Cream, not over. And combined with BB Cream, the color situation is resolved!

Discoloration, smooth surface: With several layers and delicate blending, I was able to completely conceal this depressing nodular pimple!

It seems that purple discolorations offset the fact that the concealer is too dark for me.

Discoloration, uneven surface:
Deflated mole: No matter how much I put on, it just couldn’t seem to cover this medium-brown, crater-shaped mole.

Pimple Aftermaths: Similarly to the mole, I couldn’t compleeetely cover up these:

Here's a zoomed out version, so you can see how it looks from a normal distance!

Now again, remember that this concealer is too dark for me! If you notice the pre-blending pictures, it’s is very opaque. If you are able to minimize blending—that is, if your skin tone matches it well—then I reckon you can cover up just about anything. That's just my guess though!

I like it for my dark circles! I know it's not great for covering up most of my other blemishes--also due to the fact that it's too dark for me--but the texture is what gets me! I like how it sits on my fine lines: it doesn't crease, it doesn't clump, and it doesn't look awfully powdery. I've tried the Tony Moly Babydoll Pot Concealer which is also very creamy, but it always clumped when I tried to blend it over uneven surfaces. Not with this one! I bet if I were a bit tanner, I would really love this concealer. I'm so curious to try the lighter shade!
