My Black Friday Purchase From Sephora~

[Disclaimer: I still can't figure out why my camera is not focusing like it used to, so if you'll forgive me, I'm a little blurry in these pictures! Clearly I don't know how to use a camera! >.<]

Hello everyone!

If you’re like me, you have what I like to call the “EBS”:

EBS stands for Eye-Bag-Smile! It’s when you smile and your under-eyes puff up like little balloons. Han Seung-Yeon from Kara, for example, totally has EBS:

I know some people complain about it, but I actually find it quite endearing! (Not that I find my own smile endearing, that would be awkward.) But as with everything, there is a trade-off for this EBS charm. When I wince my eyes like that, it leaves behind a cross-cut array of fine lines under my eyes! My lovely Oppa has been keen to remind me that because I am no longer considered "young," my skin is starting to age... So with that, I decided it was time to invest in a HQ eye cream.

On Black Friday I ordered an eye cream from Sephora. After a more than a week in cross-country transit, it finally arrived! I present to you the Shiseido Benefiance Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream!

Look at how luxuriously shiny the cap is--soon to be covered with my greasy fingerprints, hehehe  I've only begun to use it, but I hope that my next post will be a glowing review of it's magical results!

With their Black Friday promo I also picked up a Hello Kitty makeup bag filled with samples. It's a cute bag, and not to mention super sturdy! Boy, was it stuffed with lots of goodies!

Ah, I love samples~  Nice products, no commitment, no high-cost, what's not to love?

I do have to tell you though, one of the perfume samples smells like soap, which makes sense since it was "inspired by soap." ...Soap, of all things? =.= They could have at least chosen "fresh hotel linens" as their inspiration, don't you think?

Otherwise, the rest smell nice! I've been using them on Baby Jiro, my little lamb from Animaland. Ever since Oppa began using Baby Jiro as his secondary pillow, I have noticed various drool stains on his body...  But thanks to Michael Kors and DKNY, Baby Jiro smells nice again!

Well, I hope you've all had a spaztastic week so far! I'm going to Korea next week, so I may or may not get to say bye before I go on hiatus for a few weeks! If not, I wish you all and a warm, laughter and love-filled Holiday season!

And do share! Who else here has EBS? Does it bother you? And what did YOU buy on Black Friday? :D

Still around.

Hello dear all,

Even though I haven't been blogging, I have been working alot and still keeping up with reading all you lovely bloggers.

I know there is plenty I have been unable to join in, Sew grateful @ My happy sewing place. Staturday link up @ sew country chick, bra and tap panties @ a few threads loose, walkaway dress @eldlewiess patterns If I have missed anyone  else I am sorry, (please forgive me I have 3 teens down with manflu, even though 2 of them are girls.)

So there's not much new 'making ' to show today. I have begun making Plain Pattern Project dress 3,  But what I am going to tell you about is a new direction I find my self being drawn to.

Steampunk and Cosplay. Ever since we went to the expo/comi-con, this has been at the forefront of my mind. I don't want to give too much away, (not to tease, but I am keen not to tempt fate).

In the meantime I would like to share this with you, I hope you like it as much as I do. There isn't any moving pictures, just music and it is so beautiful.

Much love Sew Vala,
thinking of a slight change to my  blogg name, to go along with the new theme.
The current favourite is The Lady Vala Inara Troposphere. I know it's a bit much but after checking out other steampunk pseudonyms , This is what I have come up with, Can anyone find the connection in the name, (Yep looking at you, Debi- my happy sewing place. )

EOS Lip Balm: a Ball of Butter

Hello dear online friends!

First things first, I have a quick confession to make:
You might have noticed that in my pictures, I am usually not super dolled-up. I wear T-shirts, my hair is uncurled, and outfit shots are nowhere to be seen! That's because up until recently, I have mainly written this blog to keep in touch with my sister, so I haven't felt the need to dress up or share OOTD pics. But that's going to change now! I'm getting off my lazy butt to shine up like a new penny! Fighting!
(P.S. This post doesn't count though, because today I'm wearing a manly t-shirt and beanie...>.<

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, guess what I bought the other day!

It's the EOS Lip Balm in the Summer Fruit flavor! I've been seeing these little egg-shaped balls floating around Youtube for quite awhile, and since I lost my Burt's Bees I decided to finally give them a try:

Packaging/Scent: It comes in a hard silicone-ish container with a dimple on the side where it clicks shut. The summer fruit flavor smells very nice, and whaddya know, it tastes just as nice too!

Moisturizing Ability: As a chapstick though, I found it quite disappointing. To me, it feels like a sticky film of dried-up popcorn butter that just sits on top your chapped lips, without actually moisturizing them....Aish, not quite my thing.

[Update: It seems that only the first few outer layers are sticky and hard to apply, because once you get through that, the balm underneath is quite moisturizing! T'was probably just for packaging reasons. My lips have become very soft, so I take back what I said~]

Ingenious Shape: I will say though, I do LOVE the shape of this chapstick. All the extra surface area makes it much much easier to apply!

I’m usually very sloppy in applying my chapstick; I just slather it on as fast as possible. You can imagine that that's a bit tricky to do that with a skinny little tube stick, but get this: with the EOS, all I have to do is pucker my lips, spin the chapstick around, and voila! Full coverage with the flick of a wrist!

Hmm, I'm not sure why my camera is so blurry these days!

Okay, now one last thing. Tell me.....is it me or....

It does doesn't it?!? I wonder if EOS noticed... They probably thought their design was oh-so-cute; who knew it would end up looking like every girl’s nightmare!

Thanks for reading! And do share, what do you use to keep your lips juicy?
