My classical lolita look ヽ(⌒ー⌒)ノ

I should probably be more specific. I’m not actually suuuper familiar with lolita, so I can’t be sure if if this dress (bought from Anna House) really counts as classical lolita or not! Can anyone tell me? As for the look and coordinate itself, my inspiration came from BJD ^^

I look like a short cupcake here... (╯︵╰,)
"That's because you are [short]!" my boyfriend retorted, "I can't do anything about that!" (I'm 5'1", or 155cm, FYI~)

But after many tries, we got this angle~!

Bf-forced-photographer~
Ah, don't judge the makeup! I know it looks weird close up, but we all learn! I now know to raise the red liner and ditch the white! ^^

Oh, so...I was looking around for filters to add a nice dreamy effect to my photos, but ALL I could find were friggin’ vintagey filters, hazy and washed out in some way or another! Am I the only one here that likes crispy, *high-quality* photos?! You pay so much for a camera, why would you want to downgrade to 80s technology? (Someone explain please?)

In the end, I didn’t find a dreamy filter, but I did find a filter that made me look creepy! Scared me, at least...

It's 12:50am as I write this, so I'll be off to bed now~ ^^ But before I go, I am super duper sorry that I did not update as often as I had planned!! I’m actually in Korea right now, so I had been quiiiiiteeee preoccupied with packing. Thank you for your patience, I will not abandon you! >3<

I'm a little schoolboy!

I like to think that even if I can’t make it as a pretty girl, I can at least pass as a pretty boy~! :D

Ever since I found out about BJDs (ball-jointed dolls), I have spent my days lurking Tumblr and Flickr to collect a bunch of their photos. I sound like such a creeper, hah! But they're so inspiring, and one thing I want to do is to recreate some of their looks that I like.

It’s really a crash-course for me, since their makeup always involves lots of eyeshadow—something that I hardly ever use. For my first attempt, I tackled this schoolboy look:

And my result….

*cricket chirp chirp*

…Well, not so stellar! I’ll be the first to say that I really FAILED this one! >"< Sure, I got the clothes and the wig (sort of), I look like a boy (I think!), but it’s clear that I have a loooong way to go before actually looking dolly...

But that’s okay~ We all start somewhere!! I know what I have to do to improve. Once I realized that I didn’t look the part, I came out of character and decided to be myself, dolly or not :)

▼ I’m supposed to be grabbing the bowtie here, but it looks like I have an invisible backpack on instead!

▼And a half-profile picture, since I think I look best when I’m not facing the camera. T_T

Oh, and these photos were actually taken by my boyfriend. It was his punishment for forgetting my tripod at his work...! He also captured some candid shots, which I think are always fun!

This is me getting embarrassed, as I always do when someone else takes my photo~

(▲ That's a mirror I'm holding! Gotta touch-up the wig~)

This is me reaching for the camera and asking my bf to give it to me:
I think I look either like a creepy person trying to possess you, or a perverted boy trying to grope you

Well that’s it for now! Other than that, I just want to mention that my posting frequency will drop, as the next two months are “crunch time” at work. :( Please bear with me! I’ll still post, but it may be once every two weeks. Come December I should have much more time! ^^

P.S. I’m just waiting for some tights to come in and then I can take pictures of my Lolita dresses! Until then~!

Model Makeover Vol. 1: Tsubasa Masuwaka

As part of my New Years Resolutions, I wanted to experiment with different makeup styles; for now, that means mimicking the makeup of various gyaru models! Unless I think of a better name, I think I shall call these set of posts "Model Makeover"!  After all, it's a makeover based on magazine models, so the name makes sense right?

For my first Model Makeover, my muse was none other than Tsubasa Masuwaka. Recently I've felt somewhat pressured (by job applications, etc) to don a more natural look, and nobody does natural dolly quite like her!

I tried to mimic her look in the promotional pictures for her latest Dolly Wink lashes: long, slightly winged eyeliner, natural lashes, and baby pink cheeks and lips. But since my eyelids fold funny, I wasn't able to draw my eyeliner as finely as she did. Otherwise, I did manage to tone down the nose contour and arch my brows to match hers.

And just for fun, I even tried imitating her facial expressions/poses. My lips aren't very plump though, so I resorted to duck face! Muahaha!  Then I also realized that one way to fake Tsubasa's lips is to do a pursed half-smirk.
(Actually, can someone tell me why is duck face so bad? To me it just looks like kissy face/pursed lips, and I see no crime in that...)

Captions are under the pictures:

No nails today, only sausagey fingers! Ran out of nail glue :(

Oopsie, what terrible hand positioning~

This is the closest I'll get to Tsubasa's ever-perky lips.

You'll have to forgive me for my lazy hair. While my baby pink blush sadly didn't show up on camera, the wig I was going to use showed up WAY TOO MUCH. It was super shiny and looked like the pee color of a very dehydrated person who OD'ed on Vitamin B, if you know what I mean.... It was so horrible I'm not even going to post a picture. Even the wig cap looked better!

And that's sayin' something. So in the end, Oppa decided to put my wig and hat on cute little Baby Jiro instead:

This was intended to be a kissy face (not duck face!) directed at Baby Jiro.

Awwww~~~ so cute~

This concludes my first Model Makeover post, as well as my first attempt in doing natural makeup. I must admit, I'm so used to the panda look that I'm not sure what I think about this look on me yet. I'm also not used to having arched eyebrows, so I think I look a bit angry like this... >.<

That being said, I was VERY shocked to realize how different I looked compared to my usual look! Makeup can really transform you! I'm very excited now to try other styles!

Thoughts? Do arched eyebrows suit me? Any suggestions on who the next Model Makeover Muse should be? (I was thinking Okarie maybe?) ^.^

Thanks for reading~
